Owie

Remind me to save as a draft before I post..... blogger has been so hinky latley

So, this

is what I see when I look out the front wondow this morning. Ouch.

We have been meaning to trim this tree, but just never got around to it. Besides its just so crazy expensive to get the trees trimmed or taken down! Looks like she decided to take control of the situation herself ( cherry tree with spring flowers = girl tree)

Now the questions is, are we going to clean up the mess ourselves (we have a chain saw) or just hire it out (and how expensive will that be?)

August Dishcloth KAL

Here is my KAL for August - the 3 & 1 checkered cloth! Love it!
I used Sugar & Cream Yellow and Peaches & Cream Gumdrop. I think the colors are great, so nice and bright. Oh and I used my Knit Picks needles, size 7's. I have an easier time knitting the cotton on these than my Denise set.

Here are 2 more Ball Band dishcloths too... set aside for M4 to give as gifts. The colors are Sugar and cream Sage Green and S&C Country Side Ombre.

Does anyone wash and block their dishcloths before taking pictures.... I didn't. Maybe I should? I think the 3&1 would need to be blocked if it was going as a gift.... a little wobbly on the edges.

SOCKS !!!!!!!!!!!

Socks, Trekking XXL
Originally uploaded by Rabid Crafter.
I got socks! Whoot!

Pattern: basic sock pattern from sock class
Needles: Addi Turbo 12" 1's (yup that's right)
Yarn: Trekking XXL #134

So I knit fast and loose (ha) and had to rip these and force myself to knit tighter! Crazy. Also I started the 2nd sock from the opposite end of the ball, hence the stripe sequence being opposite. I love the way they look and they feel great!

Sheep Tote

Pattern : Fiber Trends Sheep Tote
Needles, Denise 11's
Yarn: Cascade 128 - 3 skein (like 2.5)

This pattern is great! Easy to read and fun to knit and the added bonus of needle felting on top! I just used some Lamb's Pride that I kind of untwisted to make my "fake" roving. A little green at the bottom and she is running down the hill!

Sneak Peek

I'm doing a little trade with Glynnis in OZ. We met on the MonthlyDishcloths Knit-A-Long Yahoo groups. I'm rotten at keeping secrets, so here is a peek of what is in the box! (2 layers so far, yes its all cotton)

You know how you try to send "extras"? Like a bit of candy or some tea? Well, I'm not going to do that this time (I think/maybe/can I keep ONE secret?). I just want to fill the box to the MAX. Looks likeI have a little room left too so I'll pick up a bit more stuff at Technicolor Sheep Thursday nigh since I'll be there for the final installment of the sock class.

Why yes, I have been knitting dishcloths! and No pics. I've been using them as fast as I can knit. I even got my friend M4 interested when she was here 2 weeks ago. The final product that is, not the knitting! She is still working on her crocheted "slip stitch" blanket. Same project for the last 3 years, that's just crazy.

The big sister

Here is the baby's big sister wearing her "magic" cape. (her call not mine) Also the bucket hat I made last year with Shrinky Dink Elmo charms. (actually she and mommy got matching bucket hats, but Mommy's hat had special "charms")

Yes, that is the dog crate behind her. We keep it in the family room so he can be part of all the action, but go in there when it gets too crazy.

Baby in handknits

Here she is! The baby of M4, my dear friend. Modeling all the things I knit the last couple of months. If you scoll back the last couple of months you can see all the project specs!

Happy Birthday!

So, back to business.
Last week, my dearest friend in the world came to visit with her 2.5 yr old and 6 week old (yup, just 6 weeks) We had an awesome time, despite the crazy hot weather and I gots loads of baby pics. Specifically baby in hand-knit pic. Here is the first of many, baby wearing her special Dorothy booties! How cute?! I love baby feet.

And since my friend was here and since it is the month of her birth, I gifted her with this bangle bag of my own creation. (see knock off Margaret Nichole) Plus an extra ribbon (in black) should she want a change. Plus I made the dangles for the pin. I think she likes it.
