What's Up?

Well, first up - Harry Potter was delivered to my house Saturday and ALL KNITTING HALTED until 7:30pm Sunday. 'nuff said.

Next- Here is my Booty Package from the Yarn Pirate club. (now that I'm not in danger of spoiling it for anyone) Sock yarn, a YP pin and some yummy handmade soap....Can everybody say Oohhhhhh? The colorway is called "Rum Runner" Next up- 2 dishcloths. The first is Bamboozled from the Monthly Dishcloth KAL yahoo group And the 2nd is "O Little Town". I test knit this over the weekend from Susan at Knitsalittle.com

Lastley- my toe up socks. Kristy and Charity and myself are forming our own support group.

Here is my progress so far: first sock done up to cuff following the directions from Interweave (which are very good and have a nice picture of the cast on)

2nd sock cast on from the opposite end and knit up to the foot. This time instead of M1's left and right I just did Kf&b. Much much better! less potty mouth, no lost stitches and neater looking all around.

I'm going to try the short row heel again and see if I can make it look better. If not, then I'll research different types of heels or go back and just go my heel flap.

I want to get both socklets out of the leftover yarn. The bit in the middle is what I have left... can I make it?

My dog done gone and lost his mind....

The Mayor has camp so today I took Gunnar to the Newlin Grist Mill, instead of our usual park. The weather is nice. Not too warm and great in the shade. Since we we were the ONLY ones there, I let him off leash to romp in the streams.

He could not get enough! Every stream or path to a stream he ran skippity-hop!
He ran over the little bridges back and forth. You can see him in the top left corner in the pic below. It really is a beautiful park and I'm so lucky its close by! As we were heading back to the car, I was told by the park "ranger" to put him back on leash. (insert patented RC eye roll of annoyance) Yes, yes I understand there are rules. He is a big dog. He was only off leash as long as nobody was around and going back ON leash to get to the car. I just felt she had nothing better to do right then and wanted to exercise her "power" . Oh well. Its tough walking a German Shepherd- lots of people are afraid. Anyway... Next up the current WIP- the Mitered Square Rug from Interweave, scroll down for the pdf. This is so much fun and totally functional BUT... the blue/turquoise does not look the same in the family room as it did at AC Moore. doh. BUT I'm enjoying the process so much, I'm just going to keep knitting and put it in the gift tote. I already have plans for 2 more!

Stay Cool and Keep Knitting.

The Trouble with Tribbles

I'm totally ripping off Abigail's post from yesterday. She made them look so cute, I could NOT help myself! I did these all yesterday with leftovers from other dishcloth projects. Quick and easy, just how I like'em! (plus great knitting for the doctors office... the Mayor has "The Cough" so off to the pediatrician's office we go)

Here are some Spa Slippers I crocheted for the Spa Knit on Saturday. Everyone who came into the shop got to put a ticket in the bowl and a random winner was chosen at the end of the day! Fun!
I really need to get my WIPs organized and prioritized. I have way too many projects going on right now and feel like I'm spinning my wheels. Plus I need to knit a Christmas stocking for my mom to give as a gift it needs to be done in the next 2 weeks.... I guess I should start working on that first...
Just one more tribble........
