Hats!

Taking a cue from Noolie, I made a few teeney tiney preemie hats to go to the 4th annual k3tog Preemie Hat Knitting Extravaganza 5 teeny tiny hats- boy did they bring back memories! (maybe more on that later) You can get an idea of their size based on the chair seat and envelope. I used some leftover sock yarn, c/o 40 and 2x2 rib for 3 inches- decreased and pompom. The 2 larger are a baby yarn on 60 stitches, 2x2 rib, decrease and top knot. Anyhoo, they are in the mail!


Then I quickly cast on for the first Chemo hat for Aunt Doris (my fab model Mom-mom pressed into service)- This is the Odessa pattern by Grumperina done on size 4 & 6 circs. I used Karabella Margrite, 80% merino, 20% cashmere and OH BOY is it soft! Plus the pattern is super stretchy so it will fit with hair or without. It really is N.I.C.E.

Saturday my YP Bootie came in the mail-

"Kalamata" 480 yds Superwash Merino. Yum! I really like this colorway and can see socks for me in the near future... muh-haha! I'll be giving up my YP Booty club membership soon and am pretty bummed, but just cannot justify the cost much longer :(

Now I'm just finishing up a Spa Set, unfinished at Christmas and spinning a bit. I did get the jumbo flyer for her and need a bit more practice to get comfortable. yarn pics soon!

Wish me Luck! Tomorrow is The Mayor's 6th Birthday Party #1 (we have 2, one for playgroup another for family friends on the weekend). Its gonna be LOUD.

Eye Candy Friday

I'm not offically in that ring, but I wanted to share this:The latest installment of the Yarn Pirate Booty Club! The colorway is called "Killer Bees" I need socks in this yarn NOW (plus 2 YP knitting needles 24" size 1 and size 2 for Magic Looping, neat) Now what pattern to use?

You can guess which items The Mayor grabbed to put in HIS treasure chest. (I took the tissue case back to keep in the car!) Fun stuff!

And another recent FO- "My So Called Scarf"pattern by Sheep in the City. Done in Manos color 113 ,2 skeins,on Denise 11's.A neat pattern, easy to memorize . I think it looks woven on the one side.

I may even do another in a solid "manley" color for a just in case giftie.

OTN: baby sweater to do for a pre-k friend , Monkey socks, Spa sets and some other stuff I'm forgetting...

Tomorrow is the "Dye Yarn with Beth Casey of Lorna's Laces" class at Loop in Philly. I'm going with Amada so there should be pictures (we will remind each other). Gonna be fun!

Things I have not blogged about...

First week of school for him and new job for me! Gah! too much going on...But here are some things done last month that were gifts and could not show till now.

Mommy & Me socks- Lion Brand Magic Stripes in color Regatta Blue Stripe- Addi 2's, 2 circs. Large are cuff down, small are toe up. In the Llama box for M4 & Little Cat C
Yarn Piarate Bootly club yarn- 420 yds Superwash BFL "Calamity"

Still have Amanda's wheel and am spinning away every opportunity. I'll have more yarn to show soon.

Knit another dishcloth & tribble-Sugar & Cream Stripes- American Stripes. size 7 needles

Received my Yarn Pirate Booty package-

Spun LOTS of rovings- here is some:
I call it "Blue Blood" red with blue highlites. 271 yards sport weight, 16 wpi superwash.

Its been traded to blogless Kim for some more pottery!

I have more spun yarn, but need to get better pics. The weather is crazy, rainy, cloudy and now back tothe muggies! Bad for Photo Shoots. I'll try again later.

Fibery Goodness

came in the mail today... From the Yarn Pirate ! On the left is 4 oz 100% BFL hand dyed "Tartan" colorway, the right is 4 oz "Rosewood" also 100% BFL. Absolutely Yummy!
