Mail Call....

My sock kit for McGregor's Garden socks came today.... and lookit the cute carrot stitch marker!
Now here is my problem... do I start the McGregor's? or continue on with the Mock Wave Cable (yes its wavy, but there is NO CABLE in the pattern)
I need focus right now, not another distraction! Must.Focus. (too many things going on- need to get stuff OFF THE LIST for mental calm)

SO, guess what??? Tola came for a visit yesterday!!! Nicole was here too and we had pizza, chips, dip, drinks and YARN. So.Much.Fun. We ate, chatted, knit a tiny bit, chatted more.... really really great. I can't wait to get together again.

Who else is in the area and would like to get together for Knit Night ? (I keep typing knit knight- doh)

Neck Cozy

Wow this was a quick project! I started it Sunday and finished Tuesdy.
Neck Cozy- Ravelry link This is Koigu that Sandra gave me a while ago... the colors are great- green, blue and a splash of purple here and there.
There is still a bit left over, not enough for another cozy, but it gave me an idea... I may have enough of the Fleece Artist Monkey socks left over to do one! (the benifit of having small feet- lots of leftover sock yarn)

Next up:
I got a skein of Spunky Electic Tough Sock yarn in "Time of the Month- Rage, Tears & Chocolate" colorway

sorry for the bad pic- but you get the idea. I wish my skein had more chocolate and less tears- (that would be me) I've started the Mock Wave Cable Socks in Favorite Socks. I wanted a wavy flowy pattern to give motion to the socks- we will see how it works with the colors... but I do love the base yarn, nice and squichy.

meanwhile... I'm weak weak weak. I ordered a McGregor's Garden sock kit from The Woolen Rabbit. I love the colors and the whole idea of bunny ears peaking up from the cabbage patch. I can't wait to cast on- its my version of Spring Fever!

Too much Wuh-hoo'ing

I got the best ever gift in the mail.... can you see? 3- that's 3 count' em skeins of Classic Elite Yarns Alpaca Sox !!! in a cute basket!!
Can you say Whu-hoo?
So why the title? Well when I saw the gift, I started the whu-hoo'ing (knitter Carol was here as witness) I swung the basket over my head in some kind of wacked out version of a Country Line dance vs Electric slide and pulled a muscle in my neck. Doh.
I got the muscle rub out and the heat pack- then started rearranging the yumminess as I tried to figure current WIPS and how soon I can cast on for ME and what pattern to use. I'm thinking toe-ups in Kristy's new pattern (I think she will make available soon). That way I can use every last inch of ohsolovley Alpaca!
M4 is the best friend EVER! She and the Long Island Cats are the best family anyone could ever wish to have. Luv You!

In spinning news...
I just finished up spinning "Grinch"
4 oz of Falkland dyed by Amy at Spunky Electic!

I just finished Navajo plying and got 243 yards of DK weight yarn. More pics when we get some daylight!

Off to fondle yarn... can you say Wuh-hoo? (and maybe nee-ner, nee-ner too)

Gifted

Lookie what I got in the mail on Friday.....

Lisa Souza sock yarn in the color St Valentine! A cool note card and a set of teeny, tiny Addi sock needles size 1's (really they are only 4" long!) SWEET!

This came as a big suprise giftie from Kristy over at Ok, What Next? and all because I bullied her into finally knitting socks! How cool is that? Really, she shouldn't have.... but I LOVELOVELOVE the yarn so I'm gonna shut up.

Anyway now I'm looking for just the right sock pattern for this yarn... maybe something a little lacy, or picot edge? Anyone have any ideas?
