Kitty Pi finished

Over the weekend, (well, really Friday night) I felted the Kitty Pi . I really needed to get the beasties off my quilt! And it Worked! Mostly. The bed is big enough for both cats, even considering Yodie's ahhhh, well, *girth*. However, Maeve has decided it is all hers and will not share. In fact there was some potty mouth from her at one point. Now where did she learn that?!
I plan on making another kitty bed, a bit smaller so each can have one.

Specs:
Pattern: Felted Kitty Bed (also in Wendy's book)
Needles: Denise 15's
Yarn: Lamb's Pride worsted, 2 strands through out
2 skein Bronz patina
1 skein roasted coffee
1 skein Oatmeal (fromthe trade with Kristy)
1 skein Sandy Heather

It was big. Really Big. And I uesd a TON of wool, but it was stash yarn!
Now I need to make another.........

I LOVE Fiber Trends

Oh Fiber Trends!
How do I love your patterns?
Let me count the ways.......

And that's as far as I get waxing poetic, words fail me.

I think you get the point though. I really do *heart* Fiber Trends patterns and this one is no exception.

Pattern: Kyle's Kap, Fiber Trends
Yarn: Lamb's Pride worsted, Blue Boy and Ruby Red
Needles: clover bamboo - size 7

I made the cap the 21" size. As an added bous, the hat is QUICK. Really. Started it Saturday afternoon and finished it Saturday night.

Now, the question is, will the boy wear it? Especially when it is freezing cold? Hmmm?

Saturday Weather plus Pre-felt

Big Rain, Big Wind. That's the weather for today! We have had sooo much rain last night and this morning that our well (yes, we have well water) is overflowing into the basement! Yikes! Just a few puddles for now, but we will have to keep an eye on it!

On to the knitting content...........
1 Kitty Pi ready for the wash. Its HUGE, see my shoe for scale? Its Finished and Drying and still HUGE! I totally meant to do that. Really. I wanted it to fit both cats. They are ruining my quilt! So I figured if I made them a cozy and put it where on my bed they normally sleep, well then it would save my quilt a bit. Right? Will try to post a pic of the FO with Kittys.
2. Ready for the wash is a hedghoge, for the shop. Boy head included for scale. Actually his arm is inside the beastie. This will go in the wash as soon as I get fiberfill to stuff & block as its drying (today? tomorrow?)

Finished Stocking and 1 more

Here is the finished Christmas stocking from a couple of posts ago. I like the way Santa looks with the furry beard. Now I just have to give it to Mom-mom to line. (oh and needs a bell on his hat)
AND I did this fun quick dishcloth called Yvonne's Double Flower Cloth from some Sugar & Cream I had left over from M4's stack o'dishcloths. Just a little bit of sunshine for my kitchen!
Back to knitting the Kitty Pi and another baby sweater......

Saturday Sky and FO

Well! A Bee-U-ti-Ful Saturday it is! Hurray!
I took this picture down the street today. They have a georgous tree that has turned a fabulous red.

And I just finished up my dishcloth for the Mid-Month Kal. Illusion knitting, see?

If you look at it straight on, you don't see the pattern, but if you tilt it like so.... see the candy korn? This is from my Monthly Dishcloths (Knit-A-Long) Yahoo group. So much fun!

Mary Jane Booties

I have received some email and a few comments about the pattern for the Mary Jane booties I sent to Alison at the Blue Blog.

They are really cute and you can do so many variations! I even made the high top sneakers (look like Chuck Taylors) for my son when he was a baby.

Anyway, you can find the pattern here: Baby Bootie Boutique

note: Thanks to Dana for pointing out the link error! Whoops, my bad!

A difference in Oatmeal

Kristy over at Ok, What next needed some help with wool she got to kit a felted sheep. She was NOT happy with the color and I offered to trade for some stuff I had. Well! Do a knitter a favor, and Boy O Boy, she will not only send you the trade wool, but LOADS MORE!

JUST FYI, here are the 2 Oatmeal's- Both Lamb's Pride Worsted, Color M115. The one Kristy sent is on the bottom. See how different?? Brown Oatmeal. What's up with that?

That crazy, generous knitter sent, a music CD she made herself, 2 balls of mystery silk blend AND the Brown Oatmeal yarn! Plus a nice little note card, with writing! (big to me because I DO NOT WRITE if I can help it!) I am overwhelmed.

Now I can't wait to knit something with the mystery yarn! Yum! Silk blend, about laceweight, with a little spring to it. Any ideas?

Saturday Sky

Not exactly Saturday, but the weather is very similar today and I thought this picture was more intersting!

Tuesday we took a ride out to Lancaster County. The weather was prefect and we got to stop at a bunch of roadside stores. Plus a great all-you-can-eat buffet at Shady Maple Smorgasboard.

I took this picture on Rt 340 Old Philadelphia Pike, somewhere around Bird In Hand. Yes, that is the name of the town! Beautiful countryside with many Amish farms. Very low key and realxed. We can't wait to go back and visit again! (and I'll plan out the LYS's in the area this time!)

Back to the Pumpkin Patch

I did 4 more "mini' pumpkins and the large pumpkin basket is the "12:01" pattern from the October Magknits.

I used Lambs Pride Bulky (2 orange and 1 green) - one strand - the pattern specifies 3 of Cascade 220.

My pumpkin basket came out a bit more, um, rustic? But I'm happy with it! Next time I would knit a bit more firmly since the pumpking wedges lost some defintion in the wash. Maybe use 11's instead of 13 size needles. I think if it was a little more firm, it would keep the shape better. It resisted blocking after the wash, so I just went with it....

Not Saturday Sky, BUT Contest Winners!

The camera is MIA right now. I know its here somewhere, so here is a pic from earlier in the week! Pretty clouds! ( yes, that is the Franklin Mint, For Sale) Just for the record, I was the passenger when I took the picture!

A Labor Of Love

Because my youngest nephew does not have a Christmas stocking and because Mom-mom has looked everywhere and tried very hard for us all to have matching stockings, we have been on a hunt for 1+ year to find a stocking that will match the rest of the family. Well, I found this one (a kit) on line from The Irish Ewe the only problems was I have NEVER knit Intarsa. So I put it off, and off, and off.

Finally after a consult with Laura and much internet reading I completed this! Voila! Not too shabby!
Well, almost completed. Actually I need to duplicate stitch the name and the rest of Santa's face.

Plus it needs to be seamed up the back.
Oh and I'm going to duplicate stitch Santa's beard to make it fuzzy.
And put a bell on his hat.
That's it, really.

Here is a pic of the "other" side, not perfect, but there will be some extra stitching and it will be lined.

I will post when it is completely finished - maybe show you the rest of the family's sotckings too!

Big Momma T (mother of the youngest nephew), What do you think?

a nice stack of Dish cloths

Hello! Here are the dishcloths for my good friend M4. Whatdoyouthink? Mostly Ball Band and 2 at the bottom are the August Mid month KAL for the monthly dishcloth yahoo group.
There was some concern on the group about color fading in the wash and someone mentioned to soak them in a water-vinegar solution to set the color. I have to do this soon! We are going to visit for the baby's Baptism soon and I want to give her everything then.
HI M4! I see you reading me!
