Santa Baaas is coming to town!

I must have been a good knitter this year 'cause look at what I got!!!!!!!!!
Santa Baaas has arrived courtesy of Deb at Live and Let Learn. She wanted to know our family Christmas traditions and was collecting comments.Lucky me, I am a winner!
Her husband makes lampwork beads and sells them in his Esty shop, Glastonbury Glassworks.
She sent along this awesome glass ornament bead marker too! I'm going to put it on my Chamila bracelet. Can you stand the Cuteness?

Scott (Deb's husband) made some helpers for Santa and has them in his shop, as well as more crazy cute sheep and beautiful glass beads AND buttons. I have the shop in my favorites and can't wait to see what else he makes.
** note: puppies like to chew my leather cord holding Santa. Hide under shirt while cuddling. (puppies, not Santa)
knitting updates soon... legwarmers, fingerless glover and Christmas socks for ME!
Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

The end of 07

I was reminded by M4 yesterday that I have not posted a few things. Mr. Wonderful got a new laptop and the wireless card is not working PLUS The Mayor got a new Webkinz at Christmas so my own pc time has been limited. Excuses, excuses.

First up I got a prize from Trish's Blogiversary contest! An awesome skein of sock yarn, a snowman dishcloth and a little knit bag (filled with Dove chocolates! yum!) Thanks again Trish!

Then I finished up spindle spinning some super fun batts I got at MDSW- I was really pushing it to get it all on one spindle! I wanted one big skein. What I ended up with is 146 yards 2 ply bulky yarn! There is a lot of stuff in here- glitter, wool, bits of string and just about every color under the sun and lots of green to tie it all together. Its thick, thin and crazy! Then I recovered from all my Wuh-hoo'ing and knit myself some Alpaca Sox The colors are kinda funky in these pics... much more purple and blue in life
I used Kristy's toe up mock cable pattern again with the Sherman Heel
I wore these sock New Year's Day! So soft and yummy! But I did wear them with my Crocs and felted them a tiny bit on the bottoms. Oh well, they still fit great and feel even better.

The New Year chimed in at midnight and I made sure to have cash and knitting in my hands (1 so I'll have money, 2 that there be lots of knitting). 12:01 am I was casting on another pair of socks for me (in the Lorna's Laces I had dyed) and 12:06 I started the Dragon Scarf for the Mayor.

Guess what? I finished the scarf last night and its blocking as we speak. Pics soon.
Pretty neat for the first FO of 08!

Guess what 2? I've actually been knitting on my Monkey socks- started so long ago that nobody remembers. That's one of this years resolutions- clean up UFO's and get my needles back!

Guess what 3? The other resolution is to open an Etsy shop and sell this stuff leftover from the shop. Plus maybe sell some of my handspun.

Wish me luck!

Award.Prize.Share.

Award

Noolie (who has been recently upgraded to Nonni) has awarded me a prize! She thinks I'm nice! (shut up. you know who you are.) It really made me feel good that someone who knows me via internet and email thinks I'm nice. So in the spirit of niceness I'm nominating 7 more people who I think are nice:

Charity

Amanda

SunflowerFairy

Nicole

and my best friend M4 (who still will not blog even though I nag)

Now each of you can go and nominate 7 people who you thinkg are "Nice". Oh and I'm not emailing my nice people, I want them to read this and be suprised!

Prize
I also won a prize in Noolie's "Guess the baby's birth day and weight" contest. While I was totally off on both date and weight, I did win the random drawing and recived this lovleyness:

2 skeins of Cherry Tree Hill cotton! In the yummiest purple you have ever seen. I'm thinking a cotton wrap for the summer? yes? We will see...

Share

In the spirit of niceness and prize winning I want to participate in the Pay It Foward exchange. (also via Noolie's blog. hey! I should have titles this post "because of Noolie")Its not a swap. Its like this:

The idea of the exchange is I will send a handmade gift to the first 3 people who leave a comment on this blog post requesting to join this PIF exchange. I don’t know what that gift will be yet, and you may not receive it tomorrow or next week, but you will receive it within 365 days, that is my promise! The only thing you have to do in return is pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog - this means you must have a blog, sorry blogless readers. (I'm changing the last part so blogless readers CAN participate but must still leave me comment and play by the rules)

Gonna be fun! So come-on and leave me a comment- you all know what kick ass stuff I make! lol

Jackpot

So apparently I suck as a blogger. I have every intention of posting , but get all involved in reading everyone elses stuff. I've always enjoyed reading more than writing....

Plus the charger for my camera battery died so I've been stingy with the picture taking

BUT I did find a replacement on Ebay for only $.98! Only with shipping & handling it came to a little less than $10. Still that's better than having to get a new camera! ( I would still like a new camera soon- maybe after we get a new pc - sigh)

I'm having a lucky streak lately. The Mr. says I should play the lottery. First Noolie sent this for her Light The Night fundraiser- see link on sidebar. Go Donate! (if you win a prize and are not a knitter, I'll gladly take if for you! ) The VK Shawls on the Go! Fun book and a perfect size to fit in your purse or knitting bag... not too big and easy to read.
Next up I won this from Kristy : I told her my embarrassing stories and was the closest to guess the correct number of buttons!
Plus she sent along more soap!!!!!!!! (I traded her handspun for SOME soap- she is crazy generous)I'm going to use these for my Spa Sets that I'm gifting at Christmas. So.Cool.

I have been knitting too.... see another dishcloth & Tribble! The Nubbins pattern (scroll down page) from Knitting in a Happy Camper I used Sugar & Cream Twists in Denim on size 7 needles for the cloth and the Tribble. I LOVELOVELOVE how I can get a cloth + a tribble out of one ball of cotton. It feels thrifty. (of course you can't count the $$$ I've spent on cotton yarn, but still I feel thrifty)
I finished up Mom-mom's project too... 2 cap & mitten sets. I have to upload the pics from the camera.
That's about it for now- I think. I'll try to keep updated here, really. (oh ***t. I just realized I haven't updated Ravelry either.... ack.- maybe later)

The August Winner.....

We had a guest ticket puller this month.... (I know its blurry. They are 5 and very busy) And the winner is.....Marsha in Hanover PA! To see the prize click here

The prize for September is:

Donated by the lovley and talented Trish at Knittin' and Lovin' It.

Remember you have to the end of the year to get your squares in! A ticket for each square gives you plenty of chances for more neat prizes.
Back to toe up socks.... I started another pair with leftovers from Scooter. Just so happens its the same colorway.
Well, I worked on both and realized there is No Way I'm going to get lucky and even make it to the cuff with the small amount of yarn here:
What's a knitter to do? Rippppppppp. I 'm going to re-do and make kidlet socks. That way I use up my yarn and get to keep expermenting with heels.

Gonna be a hot one again today! Stay cool
